Seeking God

Are you seeking God through regular time in His Word?

Are you seeking God with all your heart? One of my favorite promises from Scripture is Jeremiah 29:13You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. When we study God’s Word with a desire to truly know and hear from Him, we will find Him and find truth that we can’t find anywhere else.

I love God’s Word. God’s Word changes lives, and I’m living proof of that. There is something so special about God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, making Himself known to His creation through the written word. He didn’t have to, but the fact that He did says so much about who He is.

That’s why it is so important that we not neglect God’s Word. When we grow in our knowledge of Him, we are able to live out His will in our lives and live for His purposes.

I am blessed to be a member of a Bible preaching church that teaches directly from the Word of God and encourages and equips me to be a disciple who makes disciples. By God’s grace, He has brought women into my life who love His Word. They have discipled me to study Scripture and apply it correctly to my life.

Studying God’s Word

Over the years, I’ve read so many good books on studying Scripture written by Godly men and women. All of them have increased my love for God’s Word. If you are new to studying Scripture and would like to get better at it, I encourage you to read books on the topic. Email me on my Contact Page, and I’ll send you some of my favorites.

I’m always surprised by how many women tell me that they struggle to study Scripture without a commentary or a formal Bible study. Because of this, they have never read the Bible in its entirety. They find it intimidating and don’t know where to start. This is an important area of discipleship we need to first address in our own lives and then in the women we disciple.

We miss out on so much when we only rely on others to tell us what Scripture says. Don’t hear what I’m not saying. We absolutely need to hear sermons from our pastors. We need to hear from other trusted sources with more theological knowledge than ourselves. However, they do not replace time alone in God’s Word.

Bible Study Guide

A couple years ago, I put together a Bible Study Guide that combines all my favorite Bible study tools. This helps me make the best use of my time in God’s Word. It’s also a great starting point for women new to studying Scripture.

I’m sharing this tool with you in hopes that it will encourage you and that you will encourage others to study God’s Word. My prayer is that you will seek Him with all your heart through the study of His Word. Send me an email on my Contact Page to share with me your favorite Bible study tools.
